Suburban One – JV

TO:                         ALL SUBURBAN ONE LEAGUE BOYS’ LACROSSE COACHES AND OFFICIALS

RE:                          JUNIOR VARSITY (JV) GAME TIME

The Suburban One League, by vote of league Athletic Directors, mandates that ALL Junior Varsity (JV) lacrosse games hosted by a Suburban One school will be played using 12-minute running time quarters. The clock will stop ONLY for goals, time-serving penalties, injuries and time-outs. In each of these cases, the game clock will re-start upon the sounding of the whistle to re-start play following the stoppage.

The game clock will not stop on out-of-bounds or non-time serving penalty whistles (loose ball technical). The clock does not stop during regular (sideline horn) substitutions.

This directive applies to ALL Suburban One league boys’ JV lacrosse games regardless of the nature of the contest: double-header, concurrent varsity-JV contests and stand-alone JVA or JVB games.

Penalty time will be stop-time unless the “Mercy Rule” provisions of Rule 3, Section 1, Article 2 are in effect.

There will be NO overtime in any Suburban One JV Boys’ lacrosse game.

PLEASE CHECK WITH THE TABLE PERSONNEL PRIOR TO AN S.O.L. JV GAME TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THESE GAME TIME REQUIREMENTS.
